To accelerate the pace of MRI research in MS through MRI data sharing and translate these research findings into better patient care and treatments for MS. - NAIMS-IR MISSION STATEMENT
ABOUT NAIMS-IR The goal of North American Imaging in MS Cooperative (NAIMS) is to bring together a range of imaging expertise focusing on the study of multiple sclerosis (MS). Hosted by the MS MRI Research Group at the University of British Columbia, the NAIMS Imaging Repository (NAIMS-IR) is built to allow researchers to deposit, mine, share, and interact with large imaging datasets of the brain and spinal cord.

All study participants in the NAIMS-IR have provided signed informed consent that includes the stipulation that the data collected from them will be treated according to strict security and confidentiality standards. In addition, NAIMS-IR participants are also informed that data collected from them will be made available to researchers and be used for the purpose of MS research.

NAIMS-IR has implemented policies and procedures that create a fair and transparent process to access its data, and developed principles to guide access to, and the use of, the NAIMS-IR data described in this document. These principles, policies, and procedures apply to all NAIMS-IR data and all researchers, including members of NAIMS who are requesting access to data for research are required to follow the NAIMS-IR Data Access Policy & Guiding Principles.

The NAIMS-IR includes as part of its governance structure a Data Governance Committee (DGC); the body responsible for the review of applications for access to and use of data collected as part of the NAIMS-IR. Members of the committee functions in accordance with the NAIMS-IR policies, guidelines and procedures for data access.
